You're probably wondering why I am posting this photo of mashed potatoes.
Well you see it's in reference to a horrid potato incident yesterday.
One that almost famined me in to starvation.
You see I went shopping after getting from a hard day at work watching international soccer.
Ok the day wasn't that hard, I think the shopping was way more rigorous.
I filled up an entire cart with loads of water, juices along with various meats and cheeses.
My main reason of being there was to acquire some lobsters as they were on sale.
Checked out, saved a bunch of cash with coupons and discounts.
I finally get home, unload the and beat the storm.
I get everything upacked and put away until I silde the cases of water.
Then some wretch smell tingles my nose.
I happen a bag of potatos that must be months old.
I picked it up and the smell just got worse and worse.
Till oh no this viscous brown liquid dripped out all over me and the floor.
And of course this bag had airholes.
It smelled like death meets a pig farm meets anything worse you can think.
I'm going on record that rotten, bacterialised potato funk is just, just, I'm gonna vomit thinking about it again.

So this funk is all over, I'm trying to clean it up. It just gets worse.
I'm spraying chemicals, dripping, dropping and mopping.
Oh it was completely horrifying.
I run to get the windows open then get a mop and bucket.
To the point I find out all the town hyrdants were open because of a water main leak.
So the pressure is just about a drip and delcining.
I do as much as I can then open all the windows.
Anything with the smell gets tossed outside, clothes and shoes decontaminated and off to take a crying game shower.

It eventually got better.
Jenn got some prescription strenght cleaners, eradicators, candles and a few other things to fully dissolve all the grossness.
I think we both mopped the floor twice.
Although I would like point out she shot Febreeze in my mouth claiming I had lobster breath.
To which then I started coughing and twitching.
Well atleast the basement wasn't leaking.

It's kinda ridiculous and I blame the whole thing on watching Julie & Julia recently.
I hope this won't scare me away from potatoes, the agricultural mess they can cause.
But at least this got me back in to writing in better detail some adventures that keep happening to me.

Since we were talking about pizza.
I won't order from this place again.

There's not too many rules about pizza.
Around here you have franchise stuff like dominos and pizza hut.
Then you have Pizza Parlour or Italian Restaurants.
Usually you want one with a good name or an amount of Brothers.
One brother is an only child, 2 brothers is minimal and 3 is preferred.
4 will be fine but anything more such as 5 Brothers will be chaos.
There's 3 places near Trenton where I grew up that are amazing and what I think of as Pizza.
They are Aljohns, Parkway Pizza, and 3 Brothers....
I could eat their large pies till I just pass out of being full.
I prefer regular style but will eat deep dish and thin crust as well.

So getting back to this

I can see the quality that went in to it and probably won't return.
I also think one of my friends my have barfed behind this place.
Oh well, It's pizza, try try try again.
I'll keep eating and be in search of the perfect slice.

I got a sweet deal from musician's friend.
Great customer service, shipping and a sick price.
It's an Epiphone Ltd Ed Wilshire.
I'm a sucker for Epiphones.
My first guitar was and Epiphone Tele copy.
I last got an Epiphone Les Paul a couple years back.
That thing wails....
My dream purchase at the moment is an Epiphone Les Paul Custom or an Epiphono Les Paul Custom Black Beauty.
They're almost the same thing.
The Beauty has 3 humbuckers instead of 2.
This thing, the wilshire plays great and is light as well.
Time to start writing songs for my new project.

Best Buy vs. UPS and the Meik!

So early on thursday I ordered and ipod touch.
I needed a new ipod, had a certificate and BB had a sale.
Well I updated all my info and ordered.
Later in the day I get a confirmation email.
Then tonight I finally got the chance to read it.
Somehow the tracking info reverted to my old address.
Which is great especially because I don't live there anymore.
I call Best Buy and they say the USPS should be fine with my forward.
Well that would only cover the accessories and a 360 battery.
The actual Ipod itself was being shipped by UPS.
BB tells me to call UPS with my info and they'll change it.
Well UPS tells me they can't because it's intransit and I have to wait.
I call BB back and they say well just wait and see.
I tried to explain you(BB) told me to call UPS and they told me that they would only make a change if BB called them.
So this goes back and forth for like 10 or 20 minutes.
There's no supervisor but I get put on hold every two minutes.
I know how that works a supervisor is on the line or standing by.
I told the operator I understand the situation and have been on the other side of calls like that but...
And this is a big but...They wouldn't call UPS.
Once that package is picked up BEST BUY says it's not their responsibility.
Sounds like a mixture of 3rd partyism and desparture liability.
I'm about to lose it as my info isn't being noted or transfered to voicemail.
You cannot tell me there is not a call center manager onsite.
That get's me mad. You are telling me there is a call center and everyone is on the same level without any managers.
That's when I kick it in to high gear and say I'm going to call local and national news to recant my story.
The second I said that I got put on hold and my cell phone number was requested to be contacted on Friday.

Resolution: I expect a phone call tomorrow saying there's nothing that can be done. The package gets shipped to my old address. Someone keeps it, package is lost, or I don't get the thing till August. How can there be no sense of urgency for the customer. I've spent a lot of money at Best Buy this year and that can change quickly to be exclusice B&H or Adorama like that. I'll just get all my games at Gamestop if I have to. I have no problem doing a little extra work buyt when I have to go outta my way and the company won't make 1 phone call to fix a routing that takes 25 seconds that's just disrespectful.

I apologize for any and all of the mispellings and incorrect grammar. It's 2am and I'm dead tired. Be carefull when your ordering online.

Time for a slice of calm.
I'd like to go sit in a field say one at a winery.
Maybe with a glass or bottle in hand.
So here it is quite short but it's time for change.
I've ended my run doing temp work.
I feel that I will not know the definition of temp from now on.
Because apparently it means at least 8 months. Haha!
It's all in good fun with that joke right there.
Last june my freelance work completely dried up.
Nobody was really doing and hiring in the media work I do.
At that time I was working on my portfolio.
I needed to upgrade gear but have living costs and such.
Audio, Video and still image equipmen is not cheap.
Well last summer I lost two phones.
The second was right around the time I started temping.
I missed out on a 1 month gig and then got put on another later in moments.
Temping is weird because basically they want you to carry, lift and listen.
First gig involved moving lotion boxes at a PR Agency.
The second was working at the International Gift Fair.
Both were different but fun.
The 3rd was just to move boxes....
Which over time turned me in to an Administrative Assistant in an executive office in New York.
Which was what I wanted since I had worked full time in an office in a while. I was kinda looking forward to that structure.
Eventually I knew I would want to move on from there but it was good.
For the first time I was working at a job that got out on time at 5pm.
This let me to getting back to skating and taking more photos.
I got aquaited with the Epstein's and Max Fish crews somehow.
I was able to make friends with some amazing people.
Just being some random kid from New Jersey who likes to take photos and maybe have a few drinks....occasionally.
Eventually one of my contacts hooked me up with a new media gig.
I was doing that the last 2 months night and weekends while still doing the day job.
Do the math cause I was sleeping 3-4 hours a night...
So once the media thing was legit and I was getting paid I felt secure.
With that two weeks ago I gave my notice at Park Ave.
My hours are a little crazy right now working just near the Lincoln Tunnel. But fear not this should be a fun adventure.
I can get back to shooting late night parties and skate during the day.
I'll probably pick some freelance gigs here and there while figuring out the career.
Time to grow a beard and return to see some faces I've missed.
It's time for change, but it's good change.
Who knows I'll probably be back on Park Ave again soon...
It's a pretty long avenue....

Althought the one was getting canceled out by costs, tolls, and parking.
Get ready for some fun to come.
Now matter what form it returns in.
Also I have no clue what's in store for the next month or two.

I have a pair of loafers like this I just keep at the office.
I'd usually walk over in sneakers or skateboard over.
Dexter loafers and grip tape don't make a good pair.

There once was a man who called himself a photographer(He was also and encoder). He had bags full of camera, film and memory cards. He took two jobs that took up all of his time barely leaving any left for sleep. Not enough treasure, leasure and pleasure. He saw a film that mad him remember what he loved. He wrote on a name badge that he was a photographer and it had been a few days since his last lens shutter. This made this man feel sad inside. One job took up his time and caused him to have to drive between states while spending money on parking on tolls. Wasting money that could have been spent on lenses leaving his ideas unseen. This temporary permanence continued. He looked at his name badge and felt he needed a change. A phone call, an email and a conversation will follow...I know this man quite well. He misses having fun....

Got this new lighting panel.

It's really going to be for when I start shooting DSLR Video.
But it creates a great spot for still photos as well.
So I'll probably need to pickup a 28mm and a D90 or D300S soon.
But I snapped this with my Nikon S9000.
My first point and shoot digital camera in like 3 or 4 years.
My last tiny one fell prey to a beer glass at cheers.
And the one after just completely fell apart.
This S9000 thing shoots some crazy video.
Look for some fun clips, interviews and random thoughts to come.
Till then I have 5 hours to sleep.

Long story short.
I drove in to the city on monday.
So I was running a little late to job #2.
No worries it's just a skip through the tunnel.
Yeah well my keychain alarm wasn't working.
Well turns out that was completely fine.
As I turned the key the car battery was shot.
A panic set in, phone calls to work, popped the trunk.
Pull out the jumper cables and a backup pair.
Call AAA and explain to them you're in the 6th floor of Port Authority.
And all because you left the lights on the car.
Well a kinda stranger gave me a jump.
Thanks to his help I was on time for my other job.
I tried to slip him a $20 cause he saved my shift and time.
Gentleman wouldn't take but I appreciated his help so much.
Luckily the karma wheel spun in my favor this time.
Dear tuesday, please don't suck.

Things were getting slightly busy on 41st street.
At least at the moment there is finally a place to sleep.
The problem is now the actual amount of time.
Having 3 different tasks or trades is quite taxing.
Temp job is wedged in to the daily schedule.
Encoding and webstreaming is a la carte.
I've picking up a ton of nights and weekend when I can.
Well atleast the weekend is here tomorrow.. Well kinda...

I write this to you sitting in the basement of in-laws. Surrounded by my items packed up against the walls in temporary storage. It’s for the moment almost like an episode of Hoarders. In 48 hours hopefully we shall be completely closed on the new house. A place to be creative and escape. Finally I’ll get to work on some spray paint art plus I’m going to be able to set up a photo studio in the garage. In this move I’ve gotten to realize the items I could live without. Basically all I need are a couple pairs of jeans, a couple skateboards, a laptop and all my photo gear. The back braking part of this whole transfer is that there is definitely a lot more involved. My comic book collecting is definitely on hiatus again after having to lift to completely full long boxes.
Job 2 is starting to get real and is pretty awesome. Hopefully I’ll get paid from that and maybe it will become full time sooner than later. Job 1 threw a curve ball at me. My main concern at the moment is conflicts between either of them. I’m pretty I know what my plan will be for eventually leaving one. It’s an option that I’m really lucky to have but it’s completely stressful.
Besides playing the empty the closet game this move and transition is basically making me stone cold sober. It’s been so crazy and busy that any free time I have I’m either resting or falling asleep before a beer is even poured. I’ve made a couple adventures and even stopped by Epstein’s last week. Hopefully I’ll make my return to Max Fish and B-Side early next month. Side note I must have swallowed about a cup full of dust and dryer lint yesterday. Doing that makes you basically wheeze for two days and cough like crazy. After some meds I picked up today I’m feeling and breathing much better.
So if you see someone who looks like me between daylight hours it might be me. If it’s someone in weird disguise with either a buzz cut or long hair, it’s an even better chance to be me.
Till then the adventure continues………………………

It's from the first month I started temping NYC again.
Just after the Nixon Art Mosh Party. Such a fun night.
I remember telling my friends I moved to North Dakota.
It's an inside joke that I'll tell you one day.
This was a time I was far from familiar faces and places.
So now again,there might be some changes soon. Good ones.
Technically in a way I might not be working days on Park Ave.
But I'm not exactly sure about that yet, nothing concrete.
So just in case you don't hear from me in a little bit.
Resumes will be printed and outfits will be picked.
Interviews, meetings and let the adventure begin.

I've got World Cup Fever

My world cup fever is starting to set in heavy.
Last Cup back in '06 we watch the final in the streets of Newark
It was a full on Italian celebration in the streets.
In '08 I was able to cheer on United in the Champions League final from a pub just on the outskirts of Chelsea...(Utd vs Chelsea)
Pretty sure I won't be in South Africa but anywhere the game is on will be a fun time.
Here's the check list I need to prepare before the kickoff this summer.

1. Purchase USA Men's National Team Nike Jersey
2. Figure out the schedule
3. Watch atleast 1 game at Nevada Smiths
4. Make sure my grill is ready and prepared
5. Set up two TVs so I can play Fifa 10 and watch games
6. Watch Brazil play alongside with my friend Karen.
7. Learn all the songs for Sam's Army
8. Make some specific beverage decisions.
9. Cheer Cheer Cher
10. Have some fun
